Going deeper in the still.

Welcome to The Pilgrim's Table!

My cozy weekly letter to your inbox.

Hey! Ya'll,

How have you been?

For the last few days my mind has been rolling around the question. Why do I keep going from fully emersed in the magnificent love of Jesus. Totally content with just Christ. And the next day I'm unfulfilled and dreary on the couch? And how do I stay steadfast, in burning love of our Lord continually? Why did I feel so close to Him in trials and after it is over He feels vailed by some unknown thing?

So, I did what I normally do and asked Jesus.

And He asked me this simple question. "Can you feel as close to someone that you were spending hours with, that you are now spending only minutes?"

It shook me to the core. I had been pushing the King of kings away. I thought that now that the pain and hardships were over, I could just go on with what I needed to do instead of keeping Jesus as my priority. Instead, of everything else being for, with, and to Him.

Here are the main things that He put on my heart earlier.

Today's Journal Snippets...

These are ways to grow and stay deep in your relationship with Christ.

  1. Time. You can't grow in a relationship without pouring into it.
  2. Dependency. In what areas am I being dependent on myself instead of God?
  3. Cutting out the old. I can't have Jesus and the old stuff.
  4. Renewing in the word. You need nutrients
  5. Thankfulness and praise. Is a must to endure in joy.
  6. Openness to whatever He says.
  7. Obedience. Always!!!
  8. Awareness of His presence. The Holy Spirit is always here.
  9. Trust and faith. In Him and His plan not mine.
  10. Living as a servant. With a pure humble heart.

Yeah, so, that's all that I've got for now. If you have any other points, thoughts, or other topics that you would like me to cover. or just someone to talk to, I'd love to hear from you.

Thank you for being here. It means a lot to me.

With lots of love,

Emmy. ☕ 💐
